I am back. I took almost one month of vacation to make my first steps to South America.
I was traveling around Argentina: learning tango in Buenos Aires, admiring glaciers in El Calafate, playing with whales and penguins in Puerto Madrid, watching the beauty of waterfalls and jungle in Iguazu and learning about history and culture heritage of Argentina in Salta.
Traveling is for me more about gathering new experiences rather than just pure relaxation. If a trip shook up my perception of the world and changed it a little then journey was a success.
My visit to Argentina was definitely successful. My perception of South America and Argentina in particular has changed.
I made friends with people from Chile, Peru and a few other countries, experienced the beauty of Argentina which I will try to share on the natrasie.pl.
I am sure I will come back to this part of the world. Don’t cry for me Argentina. I will be back!
Hasta la vista.

Almost one year ago the group of Ruby on Rails enthusiast met in a strange place somewhere in the center of Warsaw. People had a different background, experience and one thing in common-the mindset. All shared the same ethusiasm for web development. That is how Bootstrap was born!
Bootstrap is a gathering of passionate hackers, software engineers who want to interact and discuss ideas, present new technologies and share their experience. It is also a meeting point for entrepreneurs and like-minded people interested in technology and start-ups.
Most of the meetings consist of a technical presentation and as well as a business one. The last meeting was an exception to the rule because the whole meetup was dedicated to “social lending”. We invited all major players on Polish market Sebastian Wojdyła-kokos.pl, Rafał Agnieszczak-finansowo.pl and Łukasz Banach-monetto.pl.
The next meetup will take place on Saturday (15 March 2008). There are two presentation on the agenda.
- Marcin Kaszyński will present Greasemonkey
- Maciej Jarzębowski and Mariusz Ciepły will tell the story of LiveChat Software SA before it was taken over by Gadu-Gadu S.A
After those two presentations there will be time for everybody to promote and test projects. It is new on Bootstrap. We call it Bootstrap Elevator Speech. Each of the participants will get 5 minutes to present his or her ideas for a new start-up. It is a great challenge for entrepreneurs. Imagine how hard it is to make an impression and deliver a convincing presentation in 5 minutes. Personally I think it is a great test of self-confidence. Good luck guys!
Come and enjoy an informal, hacking atmosphere, discuss your latest ideas and learn about trends in the web market. There’s no entry fee and all web enthusiast are welcome.

I don’t usually make New Year’s Resolutions. I just feel if there is something I really want to do I will commit to it any time of the year.
Few months ago I decided to arrange some space in the Internet where I will write about my professional interests and share my knowledge in the area of information retrieval and software engineering. There is a saying in the academic world suggesting that we teach in order to learn, that is, we don’t know what we don’t know until we try to teach it. I am aware of the fact I am still a newbie and there is lot of things I should learn and master. I hope this blog will help me to find the holes in the knowledge about things I think I have already got well in hand. I also would like to learn from all friends who will read this blog.
It took some time before blog was designed and ready to write posts. In the meantime I went on a long trip to Thailand and Cambodia. I came back one week ago and just after Christmas I returned to the idea of blogging. I thought it will be fun to write first post on the January 1th, 2008.
